If you love nature and the simple things in life, join the Duchemin brothers on a route which takes you alongside vineyards and tufa stone quarries. The most important aspect of this charming ride? A sense of friendship and togetherness. Just like Félicien, Germain and Lucien, make sure your tyres are robust enough to withstand the rocky paths which weave between vineyards.

Town and Hosting sites:

Chacé - Town Hall Square
Your first pedal strokes lead you to this charming flowered village, amidst vineyards, the Thouet river, and hillsides.
Saint-Cyr-en-Bourg - Caves Robert and Marcel
Through an underground journey, you will discover scenographies that will have the privilege of awakening your senses. Sharing and emotion will inspire you throughout the visit. Once back on the surface, you can enjoy one of the cuvées.
Saint-Cyr-En-Bourg - Manoir de la Bouchardière
The fortified house of La Bouchardière is a peaceful haven built in the 14th century. Now in ruins, you can perceive the entire history of this place during a well-deserved break.

Souzay-Champigny - Clos des Cordeliers
After a few kilometers of effort, a well-deserved stop awaits you at Clos des Cordeliers, amidst 13 hectares of vineyards. The estate welcomes you for a moment of sharing!

Souzay-Champigny - Domaine des Damoiselles
The vineyard of Domaine des Damoiselles extends over 25 hectares. Make a picturesque stop amidst the vine rows. These are planted on the typical limestone plateaus of the region (tuffeau) and overlook the Loire River.

End your hike on the historic route of the Valley of the Kings. Admire the grandeur of the castle overlooking Saumur and indulge in one last lively swing dance with a glass of sparkling wine from Louis de Grenelle in hand!

 What your ticket includes

  • A gorgeous saddle bag and a tasting glass
  • A passport giving you access to six check points, including one where you can refuel with a hot lunch. After all your hard work on the bike, you’ll be able to try regional specialities during these stops.
  • Access to incredible sites, so keep your eyes peeled and drink in the views!
  • The sound of music groups will get you dancing. Listen carefully and you’ll hear notes of swing music floating through the hillsides.

Water bottles have been removed from the Anjou Vélo Vintage routes in favor of water stations for your refreshment. Reserve your water bottle bearing the events colours (available for pick-up when you collect your race bib) or remember to bring your own!

Warning for the Duchemin rider!

Before riding the Duchemin route, you will need a very good bike ! Be careful with stones and potholes! Vineyard tracks require a tested bike and tough tyres to avoid punctures.
